About the University
Established in 1890 by the United Methodist Church, Texas Wesleyan University offers the traditional liberal arts academics - English, Fine Arts, Psychology, the Sciences - as well as some nontraditional courses of study. Students can minor in Recreation Diving Management (SCUBA diving) or train to be a nurse anesthetist. Our School of Education, both undergraduate and graduate, has been providing exceptional teachers and administrators to the Metroplex and beyond since the University's founding. The School of Business Administration and Professional Programs offers a full program of business courses in an accessible schedule, with day, evening, weekend, and accelerated courses.

Our students enjoy the prestige and personal attention associated with attending a private university. Our campus is personal and accessible, yet offers many opportunities in the world beyond, including jobs, internships, and community service. We value direct relationships between students and faculty; that's why we don't believe in using teaching assistants. Our small class sizes allow these relationships between faculty and students to flourish.

The main campus is located just five miles from downtown Fort Worth, on one of the highest points in the city. A satellite site in Burleson, Texas, gives residents of Johnson County, southern Tarrant County, and the surrounding area the opportunity to attend classes closer to home.
