Destress Week is just around the corner, and the highlight of the week is the Sixth Annual Soup Kitchen for Law School students, faculty and staff.
Christian Legal Society (CLS) is requesting the participation of faculty, staff, and students to produce this year's annual Soup Kitchen, to be held Wednesday, Nov. 4, at noon and again at 5 p.m. CLS asks that each student organization contribute one pot of soup and that faculty and staff contribute other food items that would go great with soup (i.e. crackers, bread, desserts, etc.)
CLS is also looking for talent – do you sing? Do you dance? Is there a comedian in you just waiting for an invitation to entertain? If so, this is your big chance!
It’s an opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal with friends, laugh at some off-the-wall entertainers and make a donation to those less fortunate. All proceeds will go toward two organizations: Presbyterian Night Shelter and the Emmaus Foundation. The Emmaus Foundation is raising money to build a Christian high school in Africa and TXWES Law could have something to do with that. Isn't that exciting?
Sixth Annual Soup Kitchen
Wednesday, Nov. 4
12 p.m. in the Conference Center
5 p.m. in the Student Lounge
For a $5 donation, you get a bowl and spoon. Then, you are free to help yourself to soups, breads, cheeses, cakes, muffins, cookies, and more!
This event grows bigger and bigger every year, so needless to say, CLS members need all the help they can get….from you!
Please email Ebony Todd with any questions, concerns, and/or plans to contribute.
