For the second year in a row, a Texas Wesleyan School of Law moot court team advanced to the finals of a state moot court competition.
The moot court team of 3L Chris McGregor, 3L Peter “Brooks” Rose and 2L Brian Smith became finalists at the 12th Annual Mack Kidd Administrative Law Moot Court Competition held in Austin, Texas. In addition to the team’s finalist finish, McGregor won Best Oralist in both the final round and for the entire competition.
The competition, sponsored by the Administrative and Public Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, focuses on administrative law and this year received participation by 12 teams from law schools Baylor, South Texas, St. Mary’s and Texas Wesleyan.
The final round between Texas Wesleyan and Baylor was argued in the courtroom for the Third Court of Appeals at Austin before two justices of the Austin Court of Appeals and one Travis County District Judge. Joe Spence, Fort Worth attorney at Shannon, Gracey, Ratliff and Miller, LLP, was the team’s coach.
