Frederic White is Dean and Professor of Law at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, a position he has held since fall 2008. As dean, he is the chief academic and administrative officer of the School of Law.
Dean White began his legal career in 1973, as an associate attorney in the Cleveland, Ohio, office of the law firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, where he specialized in municipal finance. In 1978, he joined the law faculty of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University where he remained until 2004. Besides teaching courses in property, wills and trusts, land use control and local government law, Dean White also served as associate dean for five years. As associate dean he was responsible for supervising admissions, registrar, financial aid, career services, student services, and secretarial services. He also served as chair or a member of the following committees: Faculty Appointments, Academic Standards, Admissions, Library, and Legal Career Opportunities Program (LCOP). He served as Vice President of the University Faculty Senate and as President of the University Black Faculty and Staff Organization.
Before joining the faculty at Texas Wesleyan School of Law, Dean White also served as Dean and Professor of Law at Golden Gate University School of Law, San Francisco, Calif., from 2004-08. He earned his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College, New York, N.Y.
