Circulation Privileges
- Faculty, students, and staff of the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law may check out items with their School of Law ID card.
- Texas Wesleyan University students, faculty and staff may check out items with a valid Texas Wesleyan University ID card.
- Any item that has a "Date Due" sticker on the inside cover may circulate.
- Items with a "For Reference" sticker on the inside cover do NOT circulate and may only be used in the Law Library.
- Law reviews, legal journals and other periodicals do not circulate.
- Print reserve items do not circulate and must be used in the Law Library only. Non-School of Law patrons may check out reserve materials by leaving their driver's license at the circulation desk.
- Multimedia reserve items such as audiotapes, videos and DVDs may be checked out and taken out of the Law Library for 24 hours by patrons with circulation privileges.
Loan periods vary depending on the item being circulated.

- Texas Wesleyan University School of Law faculty: 15 items total from the Law Library and West Library.
- Texas Wesleyan University School of Law students and staff and Texas Wesleyan University faculty, staff and students: 8 items total from the Law Library and West Library. 4 of these items may be Reserve items.
All material checked out from the Dee J. Kelly Law Library MUST be returned to the Dee J. Kelly Law Library, NOT the West Library.

A non-reserve item may be renewed for one additional circulation period as long as no other patron has placed a hold on the item. Items may be renewed in person or online via the patron's library account. If an item is overdue, the patron must bring the item to the library for renewal. Reserve items may not be renewed. Telephone renewals are not available.

When an item is overdue from the Law Library:
- The patron's circulation privileges will be suspended.
- The library will notify the patron regarding the missing title.
If a title is overdue for two weeks, it will be considered lost and the patron will be responsible for replacement costs. Circulation privileges will be reinstated when:
- The item is returned, provided a replacement copy has NOT already been ordered.
- If the replacement item has been ordered, the patron is still responsible for paying the cost of the replacement. Circulation privileges will be reinstated when the replacement cost has been paid.
- In-print item: the cost of the item, plus a $25.00 processing fee.
- Out of print item: $100.00, plus a $25.00 processing fee.
- Videotape or DVD produced by a professor for class use: $25.00, plus a $25.00 processing fee.
The library allows patrons to place holds on items that are checked out. Patrons may place a hold by logging into their library account.
