Law Review Reserves

Reserve Collection

The Reserve collection is located behind the Circulation Desk. The collection includes all required and recommended books for current courses; heavily used materials such as The Bluebook and the Texas Rules of Form; audiovisual materials; items placed on reserve by professors; and items obtained via interlibrary loan for law review.

Course Reserves

Materials placed on course reserve by a faculty member can be searched through the Reserve Desk in the library catalog.

Checking Out Reserve Items

To check out a Reserve item, please write down the item's call number, then ask the Circulation Clerk to retrieve the item for you. Patrons may not retrieve items from the Reserve collection on their own. Patrons with circulation privileges may check out a Reserve item by presenting their Texas Wesleyan University ID card. Other patrons may check out an item by leaving their driver's license or other valid photo ID with the Circulation Clerk while they are using the item.

Most Reserve items may be checked out for in-library use only for up to two hours; however, videocassettes and DVDs may be checked out by patrons with circulation privileges and taken out of the law library for 24 hours. Patrons without circulation privileges may use these items in the law library only.

Law Review Reserves

The law library maintains a small Law Review Reserve collection behind the Circulation Desk. Any materials the law library has acquired for Law Review via interlibrary loan will be kept in this collection. If a Law Review member needs to access these materials, the member must ask the Circulation Clerk to retrieve the item for them. All Law Review Reserve books must be used in the law library only; articles may be taken from the library and do not have to be returned.

For reference purposes, a binder containing a list of materials currently in the Law Review Reserve collection is also kept at the Circulation Desk.
